Alan Lisk - Biography


Alan Lisk ComposerBorn in Belfast. Studied horn and piano at the Ulster College of Music. Continued studies at Dartington College of Arts and completed teacher training at Rolle College, gaining a Cert Ed. On leaving college taught brass lessons for Devon County for five years. Studied horn and piano at Trinity College of Music in London, on a special course for teachers. Went on to study electronic music, and completed an advanced course in music and film at the London International Film School, composing scores for student films. In 1994 gained an MA in Music from Kingston University, studying Ethnomusicology-Conducting and New Age Music. Visiting lecturer for undergraduate and MA courses in Film and TV Composing.

Alan has his own professional recording studio (click here to see the studio), using Logic and Pro Tools. He also records and edit music for dance companies (specializing in changing music tempo without changing the pitc h.) He has recently engineered the music for the Rambert Dance School, Images of Dance (London Studio Centre) and Matthew Bourneʼs The Infernal Galop.
